Safe-T-Cert audit-ready records, from one place.

The Safe-T-Cert documentation audit works down a list — Appendix 1 of the scheme guide. EquipSet keeps those records as you work and exports them as one evidence pack, laid out in the auditor's own numbering.

One-click evidence pack

Pick a date range and download a PDF laid out to Scheme Guide Appendix 1 — each section pulling live records, and plainly saying where a record is held elsewhere.

02

Company documents

Named slots for the documents the auditor asks for first: insurance, Safety Statement with revision and signatory, policies, meeting minutes — with expiry and review dates tracked.

03

Approved subcontractor list

A live register of your subcontractors with competence evidence per company — insurance, Safety Statement, assessments, evaluations — and gate sign-ins checked against it.

04

Statutory plant inspections

GA1, GA2 and GA3 records against each machine, available on site from the QR code on the machine itself — the strongest page in most contractors' packs.

05

Audits, talks and inductions

Site inspection forms with scores, toolbox talk sign-offs and induction records with attendance — the monitoring and training evidence criteria 4 and 6 look for.

06

Incidents and actions

Accident and near-miss records with investigation, root cause and closure, and the corrective actions they raised — kept and reportable across years.

What Safe-T-Cert is — and what EquipSet does for it

Safe-T-Cert is the construction safety management certification scheme operated by the CIF in Dublin and the CEF in Belfast. It is recognised for public procurement in Ireland (GCCC), under Build Safe in Northern Ireland, and for SSIP in Britain — which is why main contractors hold it and ask their subcontractors for the same evidence.

The audit starts with a documentation review against the scheme guide's Appendix 1 and the twelve criteria of Appendix 2, and can be suspended on the spot if documents are missing. EquipSet's job is to make that list a non-event: the records you already keep day to day — inspections, inductions, toolbox talks, RAMS, incidents, certificates — come out as one pack in the auditor's own structure, and the pack itself tells you which items still need attention before audit day.

To be clear about the claim

Safe-T-Cert certifies a contractor's safety management system — there is no such thing as Safe-T-Cert approved software, and EquipSet does not claim certification or approval. What EquipSet gives you is the record-keeping: organised, dated, exportable evidence. Your safety system and how your sites actually run remain yours, and the auditor will also visit sites and interview management.

The subcontractor question

Criterion 9 asks how you assess and approve subcontractors — auditors ask to see a live approved list with the evidence behind it. EquipSet keeps that register: each company's insurance with expiry, Safety Statement, competence assessment and post-contract evaluations, an approval recorded with reviewer and review date, and workers signing in at the gate checked against the list.

Frequently asked questions

Safe-T-Cert questions

Is EquipSet Safe-T-Cert approved or certified?

No — and no software can be. Safe-T-Cert certifies a contractor's safety management system, not the tools used to run it. EquipSet keeps the records that system produces organised and audit-ready.

What is in the evidence pack?

A PDF laid out to Scheme Guide Appendix 1: insurance and company documents, training and induction records, toolbox talks, RAMS, subcontractor assessment, statutory plant inspections (GA1/GA2/GA3), site audits, incident records and corrective actions — each section drawn from the live records for the date range you choose, with a plain note where something should be supplied separately.

Does EquipSet cover subcontractor competence assessment?

Yes. The subcontractor register holds an approved list with each company's insurance, Safety Statement, competence assessment and post-contract evaluations, and flags workers at the gate whose company is not on the approved list.

Will EquipSet get us through the audit?

It gets the documentation review ready — the part that can suspend an audit on day one. The auditor also visits sites, observes practice and interviews senior management, so certification still depends on how your system runs on the ground.
